With the on-going road works on West Coast Drive near Pinarroo it is worth making a few temporary adjustments to avoid this area. So for tomorrow we will try to good old Joondalup Loop ride that we used to do every second Thursday. Full details for this ride are published here – Ride Joondalup Loop Anticlockwise. It is a great ride with some challenging sections, a number of stops due to lights etc but is certainly a lot better than dealing with the road works and will provide a change. Looking forward to seeing you all at Celebrations Bottle Shop for a 6AM departure tomorrow.
Aquathlon Race 1 is just a few weeks away and to make it easier on the night why not register now and avoid the queue. In fact it will make it heaps easier for all concerned if you could register your interest in the races this year using the new online race registration system that is part of our WebScorer timing system. There is no cost involved and no accounts to setup just simply follow the link and register your interest in any or all of the races for the season. You will only have to pay on the night when you rock up (single or series) and you will not be penalised or charged if you register and cannot make it. So save time and effort, register for the lot or a few now.
Club Kit is now available for online ordering from the custom NCTC Scody shop. For full details, including link to shop and login details see http://northcoasttriclub.org.au/club-kit/
Note: the club does not order or hold stock. Members must order online and garments are made to order, so the production turnaround takes two months. Ordering now means your kit will arrive week beginning 6th November 2017.
Please note that all NCTC Members have access to a $100 discount voucher that you would have received in an email sent by Triathlon Australia soon after joining. You can use this voucher to take $100 off the price of your Club Kit – however terms and conditions apply – please read the details on our Club Kit 2017 page to ensure you make the best use of this one-time discount offer.
For the first time, the club has also created a co-branded race kit (trisuits only) for our IM/70.3 squad training with Brad Hosking of the 6IXTH Discipline. Squad members will also order via the club kit link however there is a separate link and password to access the co-branded garments which will be supplied to Squad members directly.
New Kit Launch
Our club uses a custom online shop system provided by Scody to allow members to purchase club kit during specific sales periods throughout the year.
Garments are not held in stock and can only be purchased when the shop is opened. Orders are taken from Members through the shop during the sales period and all sales are then manufactured to order and delivered by courier to your address.
This year, all club members receive a $100 voucher from Scody, which can only be used during the first 90 days of your TA Membership. We have timed the opening of the shop and the range on offer to ensure that you can best utilise this offer to prepare for the 2017 season so take the time to carefully consider your needs.
In keeping with the SunSmart principles and ongoing request from club members, we have now added the long-awaited sleeved aero trisuit to the range of race kit. This comes in either an aero sleeved tri top, or a sleeved one piece trisuit in the new-look NCTC race kit design, so the entire range of race kit has been restyled to match. You’ll notice that the grey panels and cuffs have gone which have been replaced with black and a new graduated stripe across the chest and back. We hope you love our new-look race kit designed to make you feel fast and go faster than ever!
The new garment we’ve added to the range is the Optimise A.I.R, as worn by pro triathlete Tim Berkel and has been favoured by many triathletes over the past 2 seasons. Our very own club Secretary Moya Jones also has one and claims it took 20 minutes off her expected bike time in the IM70.3 this year and is the most comfortable trisuit she’s ever worn. The Optimise A.I.R garments are designed for athletes looking to get the competitive edge. A.I.R suits feature a zoned fabric construction targeting specific regions of the body, which is claimed to make a noticeable difference in race performance.
There are 2 Optimise A.I.R garments available for you to choose from and both in gender specific styles;
The Optimise A.I.R. one piece trisuit (at a cost of $330), or the Optimise A.I.R. tri top (at a cost of $178).
We will also have the standard sleeveless trisuit ($199) and sleeveless tri top ($110), plus tri pants ($110). These garments are also available in either mens or women’s specific cuts.
Whichever tri top you prefer, you can mix/match with the tri pants.
To benefit from the $100 discount voucher, you need to be sure you order $300 worth of garments from the Scody shop when it opens this week. As the 1 piece Optimise AIR sleeved trisuit has a price of $330 this brings the suit down to a more reasonable price of $230. You may purchase as many items as you like from the Scody store to ensure you reach the $300 minimum order value to get your $100 discount off that order so for your convenience we’ve also added the standard range of cycling kit to the store. This effectively means the discount will pay for a new jersey! And because all orders over $250 are free postage you’ll also save $12.50 on the usual postage.
The only downside is the waiting for your awesome new kit to arrive. But the good news is we have timed deliveries so they will arrive by 6th November.
Don’t delay – find your email with your Scody $100 voucher and get ready to use it this week. This will be the only time you can order club kit for the 2017 summer season, as the next purchasing opportunity is planned to target the State Long Course championship in May 2018 (Busselton IM 70.3).
The shop is expected to be open for Members to make orders online from Thursday 7th. More details to come over the next few days.
During the current triathlon “off season” we have an interesting mix of requirements for cycle training from our members. This is just a reminder that at this time, any club member is welcome to coordinate a group ride plan of their pleasing. The club is happy to facilitate this on your behalf by promoting it in the weekly newsletter (usually prepared on a Sunday night) for the week ahead. So, if you would like to nominate a preferred ride distance and route for any upcoming day of the week simply send details to club secretary Moya at email@example.com before 8pm Saturday night for inclusion in the weekly newsletter issued Sunday night.
You do not have to take responsibility to be the ride leader or be responsible for everyone’s safety provided you nominate one of the existing club ride routes (see website for details). You can nominate the start time and location of group ride start too.
Yes it is that time of year again when we look not to racing be recognising those who have made a significant contribution to the club. With the up coming end of season and awards function, now is the time to put in a nomination or two or more for people you believe should be recognised for there contribution to the club.
As time is getting away we need your nominations in before our next committee meeting so please get these in on, or before Sunday 4th June 2017 via email to Emma Bott at firstname.lastname@example.org – please put in the Subject: Club Person of the Year Nomination 2017 and in the details we need the person you are nominating and a brief sentence about what the person did or does for the club that is worthy of nomination.
We are looking forward to catching up with you all at the function. Note this year a much more casual affair, Sat 24th June, The Carine, significantly cheaper, kid friendly, 3PM start.
