Message from Outgoing President

Written by Craig Wright on . Posted in News

A warm welcome to everyone attending this years North Coast Tri Club AGM

A special mention to:

• Our club sponsors: Honda North, Als Cycle Surgery, and also acknowledge Tom Houston from Central Metals.
• A welcome to our Life Members
• Newsflash from Canada overnight: Sally Pilbeam has won her category in the ParaTri world championship event!

I would like to thank the hard working committee from this past season. We have a lot of people in our club who are very passionate about our sport, and give up an enormous amount of their own free time to contribute something to our club. We have a number of committee members standing down this season including myself, and the club remains in good hands with those committee members continuing, plus some new members who would like to nominate here today.

Our club has had a remarkable year in triathlon, our 20th year since formalities emerged in 1994/95! Our membership continues to grow, and we welcome many new members to our North Coast family of over 500.

We are very proud this season to win two major awards as a club. The first being the Interclub Championship Rob Pickard Trophy, from the Mandurah Interclub race in December 2013. To top the season off, North Coast were recently award the Triathlon WA Club Championship Award for the 2013-14 season, as the best performing club in the state. To take these two prestigious awards in the one season is a very special reason for us to all celebrate our club spirit and success.

We have provided a number of enjoyable member activities this year, including the Boxing Day ride, the Death Valley Ride, Lancelin Ride, the summer Aquathlon series, and the Winter Duathlons, and we look forward to continuing these in the coming year.

Thank you to all club members for your ongoing support of North Coast. Please give your full support and understanding to the new committee coming in. It’s not always an easy task, in as much as we cannot please everyone, but we do try to focus on the main issues affecting the majority of members both now and going forward. I have already had preliminary discussions with the member nominating for president, and I will continue in the background during a handover phase, whatever it takes. I have full confidence the club is in great hands going forward under his leadership.

Thank you
Craig Wright

Following nominations, a welcome to the new committee for the 2014/15 Season:
President David Martin
Vice President Janine Kaye
Secretary Mark Hoffman
Treasurer Eddy Girvan
Club Captain Alise Farrelly
General Committee: Matthew Roddis, Helen Mackay, Kelli O’Neill, Nigel Tilleard, Mandy Mandy Hulbert, Sarah Black.

New Life Member: Sue Scott

Congratulations to all!

Craigie Gym Update

** CRAIGIE LEISURE CENTRE MEMBERSHIP UPDATE **
Great news North Coasters – Craigie Leisure Centre have just advised me that we need 8 continuous members, which we have (plus some), to ensure we maintain our corporate membership discount rates.
To renew your membership, or sign up new, you just need to rock up to the Customer Service counter and say you’re with North Coast. This will ensure you get the 15% membership discount on 12 month memberships (any type of access – best value is the multi-access). That’s right… FIFTEEN PERCENT!!!! That’s awesome news!!! You DO need to bring your membership card, or receipt of renewal, or some other proof that you are a current NCTC member. You can do this immediately, we don’t need to do a mass renewal like last year – fantastic news.
Craigie Leisure Centre has advised it is the responsibility of each member to state they are with NCTC. The Customer Service personnel will not automatically assume or check to see if you are.
Unfortunately if you have just renewed or signed up and not mentioned you are a NCTC member and not received a discount, Craigie Leisure Centre will not be able to provide a retrospective discount.
Those of you who mentioned you were keen – no excuses – get down to Craigie and sign up for the awesome discount!!!

TWA Awards

Written by Craig Wright on . Posted in News

Today has been another great milestone for the North Coast Tri Club, taking out the TWA Club Championship Award for the 2013-14 season.

This award comes as a direct result of the outstanding efforts from North Coast high achievers, who have today been acknowledged by TWA for placings in their age groups for Triathlete of the Year Awards. The full list of TOTY placings is detailed below, along with State Long Course Championship placings, TEP Squad members, and Technical Official awards and service recongition.

We send our congratulations to the North Coast team members who have today been recognised for their hard work and success this season.

It is also a great time to reflect on the entire North Coast family, who support and encourage each other for success and enjoyment in triathlon. For every one of you that proudly wears our kit, offers encouragement to our Trystars and Juniors, flipped a burger, sold a hot dog, marshalled a race, shouted and clapped all day until it hurts, you are the glue that holds this club together!
