North Coast Tri Club News Update

Written by Zena Coffey on . Posted in News

The first big season event was this weekend, the annual Tour de Lancelin. A fantastic turn out of 53 riders and an amazing entourage of support crew and volunteers. If you didn’t make it, you did miss a great day. The weather was perfect, the scones delicious, traffic good and the pub lunch worth it. The biggest achievement was a fundraising effort of $725.00 on the day. This will be donated to two worthy charities ‘The Fathering Project’ and ‘Fight MND’. Thank you for your support, consideration on the road for fellow riders and traffic. Huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this event together.

The second big event the Season Opener is this Sunday 14 October. Join us at Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club from 3-6pm. A chance to get out of the training gear and meet some of the club members. The Board will be introducing themselves and giving you a taste of what is planned for the year. This is a family friendly event with drinks and finger food available. Don’t miss out.

Big weekend for two of our athletes. Kona Ironman World Championships are taking place this Saturday (Hawaii time). We wish Alan Hartley and Brad Kaye all the best in their races and look forward to hearing all about it on their return!

Aquathlons 2018/2019

We now have dates locked in for all The Club’s Aquathlons. The first is 19 October, put it in your diaries. There will be an events page set-up through The Club’s FaceBook page with all relevant information. Dates and information are now available on the website also. This year we would like you to register your details (not payment) on webscorer this will put you in our system for timekeeping purposes and make the registration on the day easier for volunteers. The cost for participating is $10 senior, $5 Junior or 2/1 Training Card stamps and $15 for non-club members. A season pass of $70 is also available. (Please note all participants need to be members of Triathlon Australia). Registration will be from 5.30pm with race starting at 6pm. Burgers and drinks are available for purchase after the event. Aquathlons are a great way to end the working week, a chance to unwind, get a bit of sneaky training in and enjoy the sunset. We encourage all our members to take part.
