The NORTH COAST TRI CLUB Sunsmart Junior Tryathlon is taking place this Sunday 25th February at Craigie Leisure centre with registration commencing at 7am.

The event is held in the pool and the closed service roads behind the centre.

The event will be fun and informal, and is a great warm up for the later Tadpoles and Weetbix Triathlons over the next couple of months. The minimum age of participation is 6 so if you know anyone with younger siblings who would like to give it a try encourage them to sign up!
We are also calling for volunteers to help with helmet checks, registration and marshalling so if you can help on the day let Nic (our juniors manager) know via email, juniors@northcoasttriclub.org.au

Healthway and SunSmart

Healthway sponsorship of the North Coast SunSmart Kids Triathlon ensures that the SunSmart message is synonymous with all triathlon events – big and small – in WA.

SunSmart is an important message for triathletes of all ages who often train outdoors in sunny weather. The outdoors lifestyle that we love can bring with it some health risks. Every year, around 44 000 West Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer and around 1000 of those cancers are melanomas. Every year 130 Western Australians die from this most deadly form of skin cancer. The good news is that most skin cancers can be prevented and it is important for young people to be SunSmart at an early age as damage to the skin caused by sun exposure catches up with them later in their life.
