Now that the Triathlon season has come to an end it is time to get back into some hills riding. Today’s ride was a nice introduction back to the hills with a 75km ride starting at Guildford Railway Station and riding out to Mundaring Weir. These group rides are suitable for everyone with a base fitness as there are always regular regroup stops to keep the ride together.
From Saturday 20th May, Saturday rides will start at 6.30am.
Check the calendar on the club website for details of all the rides coming up for the rest of May and for June and July.
There is a bit of a hidden agenda here in that I along with 20+ club members will be heading off in July and August for 2 weeks in the French Pyrenees, climbing mountains like the Hautacam, Tourmalet, Perysourde, some climbs are over 20km in length and reach altitudes over 2,000 meters. So we all need a lot of hill climbing!
Any suggestions for rides are welcome and also if a slower group e.g. Chocolatiers wishes to do the same routes at a slower pace this can be arranged too.
