CONGRATULATIONS to all the Rotto Swimmers.  Tough conditions out there, just like Busso, just 5.5 times longer!!!

Save the date, 24th June for our Annual Awards and End of Year Function.  We are planning something different, it will be an afternoon function so everyone can attend.

Nominations for Life Members are  open.  There is a formal procedure in place for this process, and all nominations must be submitted accordingly. For the submission details please check this page Life Member Nominations.  All submissions to be forwarded to Dave Norton via email nortondo@me.com with the subject line showing “Life Member Nomination”.

We have some hoodies for sale, you need to pre-order through Register now.  These are very high quality and will be great for those cold winter days and nights after your swim, cycle or run training.

We are looking for volunteers for the following event:

Womens Tri  – 12th March, Whitfords Nodes for athlete recovery  and Hillarys Tri – 9th April, Whitfords Nodes for registration, body marking and recovery.  Volunteering for these events help our volunteering families with expenses heading to the School Sports competition in NSW.

MONDAY 27th February


Venue: HBF Arena Joondalup, Kennedya Drive
Time:6:00pm – 7:00pm
Cost: $10 per session paid via a swim card through register now ($90 for 10 sessions).

Venue: Coles Underground Carpark No. 9, Whitfords Shopping Centre, entry off Banks Ave.
Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm (approx.)
Cost: $5 per session CASH ONLY
Details: Brad Hosking ergo session starts promptly at 6:30pm so arrive early for set up.  BYO windtrainer, water and towel.

TUESDAY 28th February


Venue: Meet at Celebrations Whitfords
Time: 5:45am – 7:00am

Venue: Flinders Reserve, Broadbeach Boulevard, Hillarys.
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Cost: $5.  Please purchase training card to minimise cash handling.
Details:  Tempo run session with Mike Bosch.


SWIMMING: SQUADS AT CRAIGIE (7.30pm session-outdoor pool only)

Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre
Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm & 7:30pm – 8:30pm (new session-outdoor pool)
Cost: $10 or less with a training card
Details: Indoor squad in 25m pool, outdoor squad in 50m pool.  The indoor squad is for adults and juniors (12+) who need swim fitness, stroke correction and technique development.  The outdoor session is based on building pace awareness and speed. Refer website for more information.

THURSDAY 2nd March


Venue: Meet at Celebrations Whitfords
Time: 5:45am – 7:00am

Cost: $5 or less with a training card.
Details: 2 groups to choose from Juniors and Beginner/Techniques group (Janine Kaye) and Advanced/Performance Group (Mike Bosch). For details about these sessions, see the Run Training section.

FRIDAY 3rd March


Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre – 50m outdoor pool
Time: 10:30am – 11:30am  (2 lanes)
Cost: $10 or less with a training card.
Details: Take your pick: – short set up to 2.2km; longer set 2.7-3km. Pacing as per program with drills to develop technique.


Venue: Sorrento Beach
Registration: 5:45pm
Briefing: 6:05pm
Start: 6:15pm
Cost: $10 Cash or training card for single race entry.
Notes: All Members are encouraged to attend. Come to check it, come to get wet, or just come to cheer then stay for presentations and spot prizes.  See Website.

This event series is sponsored by BikeForce Joondalup (BFJ). We are very thankful for their help as they have provided vouchers as spot prizes and will be providing the major prize. To be in the draw to win the major prize you must finish at least 6 of the 12 races in the series. The winner will be by random draw from valid entrants to be drawn at the club’s annual presentation night. The club also recognises performance in this event with both an Adult and a Junior point score awards.

SATURDAY 4th March


Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:00am –  9.30am
Details: The first 25km is a group ride and then break into two groups  so that there is a group doing the shorter Whiteman Park ride and another group doing the longer Swan Valley Circuit.  For more information see Website.

RIDE: NOVICE/JUNIORS RIDE  (No rides until further notice)


Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:00am
Details: The Chocolatiers are an intermediate group ride. The ride is ideal as a training or social ride for all age groups and all levels of cycling ability. Distances travelled usually between 45km to 60km with an average speed less than 26km/hour. Moya is unavailable this week.

SUNDAY 5th March


Venue: Sorrento Beach
Time: 8am
Details: This is a non-coached open water swim for anyone interested to swim as a mob from the beach. Distances depend on the day and what people feel like doing. Meet at the top of the steps at the wall above the beach.
