I can’t believe it is 2017 already.  Hope you all had a safe and happy break.

Coached training will be back from Monday 9th January.  However, we still have the lanes booked at Craigie Leisure Centre, so feel free to use these, but note that this week there are no coached sessions for swimming and running.

Our first Aquathlon for the year is on this Friday 6th January.  There are some great spot prizes to be won and Kelli assures me that the sea will be calm!!!

The TWA State Series Race #2 will be our Aquathlon on 3rd February.  We will be looking for volunteers on race day and the club is offering a special incentive to volunteer rather than race.  See Coming Soon section for more information.


MONDAY 2nd January

SWIMMING: (no Squad)

Monday night swimming will now be available to the juniors all year round.  Sessions will commence on 9th January.  For more information, please contact Janine (janine@janinekaye.com.au).

WEDNESDAY 4th January

SWIMMING: SQUADS AT CRAIGIE ( Coaching will resume 11 January)

Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Lanes are still booked, however, this will not be a coached session.


THURSDAY 5th January

RIDE: HILLARYS & SACRED HEART

Venue: Meet at Celebrations Whitfords
Time: 5:45am – 7:00am

FRIDAY 6th January

Time: 10:30am – 11:30am  (2 lanes)

CLUB AQUATHLON SERIES #6

Date: Friday 6 January 2017
Time: 5:45pm registration
Venue: Sorrento Beach
Details: 1st Aquathlon for the new year.  See Website.

SATURDAY 7th January

RIDE: CRYSTAL GOOSE

Venue: Meet Guildford Train Station
Time: 6:00am
Details: Start at Guildford Train Station and we head first for Gooseberry Hill, Then Kalamunda Rd descent, Crystal Brook, head south the up Paterson Rd and back to Kalamunda, before heading down the Zig Zags, Midland Rd to our start point.

Distance is 79.3km.  Pace will be suitable for all and there will be regular regrouping points.  See Website for more information.

RIDE: NOVICE/JUNIORS RIDE

Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club (north side of the club)
Time: 6:30am – 8:00am
Details: Kevin is your ride leader and is there for the older juniors and novice adults. Distance travelled is usually about 30kms.

RIDE: CHOCOLATIERS

Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:00am
Details: The Chocolatiers are an intermediate group ride. The ride is ideal as a training or social ride for all age groups and all levels of cycling ability. Distances travelled usually between 45km to 60km with an average speed less than 26km/hour.  See Website.


SUNDAY 8th January

SWIMMING: OPEN WATER

Venue: Sorrento Beach
Time: 8am
Details: This is a non-coached open water swim for anyone interested to swim as a mob from the beach. Distances depend on the day and what people feel like doing. Meet at the top of the steps at the wall above the beach.

CLUB AQUATHLON SERIES #8  TWA State Series Race #2

Date: Friday 3 February 2017
Time: 5:45pm registration
Venue: Sorrento Beach

Details: This event is part of the State Series and all clubs across WA have been invitedIf you want to race you will need to register before 29th January 2017, 11.59pmSee our Website for information.

We will need lots of volunteers, and as an incentive to volunteer rather than race, the club is offering full Aquathlon points and will be included as part of the 6th race to qualify for the end of series Bikeforce Joondalup major prize.
