Hi Fellow North Coasters
With the recent Busselton Full and Half (70.3) Ironman done and dusted, the long course enthusiasts and aspirants amongst us are already setting sights on arguably the biggest race on our local triathlon calendar – the Busselton 70.3 in May. It’s a sensational race and perfectly positioned on the very back end of the season, giving every athlete the opportunity to perform to their potential best.
Performing at ones best doesn’t just happen though; it’s the culmination of a long, purposeful, often gruelling and ‘not so fun’ journey and whilst good results and / or personal satisfaction don’t just happen without a good ol’ ‘nose to the grindstone’ work ethic – It certainly doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.
For the past 18 months the club has been working to implement a long course specific program for its members and having road tested a model for the recent Busso IM / 70.3, we’re pleased to announce the NCTC Long Course Preparation Squad will be continue to operate as a core part of the clubs triathlon coaching services into 2017.
Continuing at the helm will be club coach Brad Hosking. With 10 full Iron distance races, as many halves and a multitude of other standalone races, coupled with seven years of coaching specialising solely in the Full and Half Iron disciplines, Brad has amassed some respectable experience which he is desperate to share. A father of two with a full time working wife, Brad understands deeply the impacts and challenges that preparing for a long course triathlon have on the individual athlete and the support team around them.
Be you a first timer, multi finisher, front of pack, back of pack or in-betweener, if you’re looking to compete in the Busselton 70.3 (or any future Long Course event) in May 2017 and wish to maximise every minute of your precious available time, extensively expand your knowledge base and do it all within a super fun, highly motivating squad environment, then the 2017 Busso IM 70.3 NCTC Preparation Squad is due your serious consideration.
With a definite start date set for Monday February 6, the 13 week program will be an opportunity you won’t want to miss. So lock in the date on your calendar and if you haven’t already – have a chat to one of the 13 club members who recently participated in the squad for their thoughts and testimonies.
Further info will be sent out soon regarding a detailed information night, so be sure to keep an eye out for that and at the very least register your expression to come along and get all the info you’ll need to make a well informed decision.
Until then, to you and all your family and loved ones – have a safe and wonderful Christmas.
