The Max Greive Memorial Run is on this Friday night.  Bring the family along to run/walk the 5km or race the 10km for the prestigious BIG CHAIN RING trophy.  Entry is a (or several) gold coin donation.  There will be a BBQ with beef and vegetarian burgers ($4 each) and the SLSC bar will be open.

Barry Silverlock will be holding his Half Ironman Information Series (the first is on 11th December) in preparation for Busselton 70.3 in May 2017.  See the COMING SOON section below for more information.

We are holding a Yoga Session specifically designed for triathletes.  It will be held this Saturday in the Wellness Room at Craigie Leisure Centre from 1pm to 3pm.  The cost is only $10.  Please bring along a yoga mat, if you have a one, or a towel and water.

Good luck to Allison Ratcliffe and Adrian Whittaker who are heading off to Langkawi to compete in the Ironman Malyasia race on 12th November.

SWIMMING: JUNIORS SWIM SQUAD

Venue: HBF Arena Joondalup, Kennedya Drive

CYCLING: SPIN/ERGO

Venue: Coles Underground Carpark No. 9, Whitfords Shopping Centre, entry off Banks Ave.
Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm (approx.)
Cost: $5 per session CASH ONLY
Details: Brad Hosking ergo session starts promptly at 6:30pm so arrive early for set up.  BYO windtrainer, water and towel.

WEDNESDAY 9th November

SWIMMING: SQUADS AT CRAIGIE

Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre
Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Cost: $10 or less with a training card
Details: Indoor squad in 25m pool, outdoor squad in 50m pool.  The indoor squad is for adults and juniors (12+) who need swim fitness, stroke correction and technique development.  The outdoor session is based on building pace awareness and speed. Refer website for more information.


THURSDAY 10th November

RIDE: HILLARYS & SACRED HEART

FRIDAY 11th November

SWIMMING: CRAIGIE LEISURE CENTRE

Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre – 50m outdoor pool
Time: 10:30am – 11:30am  (2 lanes)
Cost: $10 or less with a training card.
Details: Take your pick: – short set up to 2.2km; longer set 2.7-3km. Pacing as per program with drills to develop technique.

RUN: MAX GREIVES MEMORIAL RUN

Venue: Sorrento Surf Club
Time: Briefing 6:05pm, Race Start 6:15pm
Cost: Gold Coin donation (as many as you can spare).  All proceeds go to the Cancer Council of Australia in recognition of Max who was one of the founding members of the club.
Details: 5km (Small Chain Ring) or 10km (Big Chain Ring).  The 10km is one of the qualifying criteria for the CTOY Award (Club Triathlete of the Year).  See Website page for more details.


SATURDAY 12th November

RIDE: NOVICE/JUNIORS RIDE

Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:30am – 8:00am
Details: Kevin is your ride leader and is there for the older juniors and novice adults. Distance travelled is usually about 30kms.  See website for more details.

RIDE: TBA  (NEW START TIME)

RIDE: CHOCOLATIERS

Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:30am
Details: The Chocolatiers are an intermediate group ride. The ride is ideal as a training or social ride for all age groups and all levels of cycling ability. Distances travelled usually between 45km to 60km with an average speed less than 26km/hour.

YOGA: WORKSHOP

Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre – Wellness Room
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Details: 2 hours of yoga and stretching specifically to help triathletes. BYO mat/towel and water.  Juniors welcome as well. Cost – $10


SUNDAY 13th November

SWIMMING: OPEN WATER

Venue: Sorrento Beach
Time: 8am
Details: This is a non-coached open water swim for anyone interested to swim as a mob from the beach. Distances depend on the day and what people feel like doing. Meet at the top of the steps at the wall above the beach.

This series of 3 information sessions is open to all club members preparing to race at the Busselton 70.3 in May 2017 whether you are a first-timer, or a seasoned athlete. Barry has many years of experience and many podium achievements to his name and has a wealth of knowledge to share with you. Barry will guide you on how to plan your training for this event, how to make the best use of club services, and will answer any questions you have about nutrition, equipment, and more.
