Highlights of the week are: Aquathlon #2 this Friday, and the North Coast Season Launch Event this Sunday. Please also take note that all weekday club rides have now changed to a 5:45am start time.

LAST WEEK’S WRAP UP

Rottnest Triathlon Weekend: A number of NCTC members competed on the weekend at events on Rottnest Island. Saturday’s events included an Olympic Distance triathlon, and off-road Adventure events, and Sunday featured both a Sprint Distance triathlon and a Long Course Triathlon. North Coast members were involved in all manner of ways over the weekend, from volunteering as course marshalls, helping at registration, and manning water stations, plus team participation and individual course racing. MONDAY 19th OCTOBER

JUNIORS SWIM SQUAD

Venue: HBF Arena Joonalup – 25m pool
Time: 6pm – 7pm
Details: To get a new swim card, simply pay online here and bring your receipt. If you’re new and would like to sign up your child for this squad, email: juniors@northcoasttriclub.org.au to check availability.

RIDE: INDOOR SPIN

Venue: Whitfords Carpark No. 9 (Coles)
Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Details: Cost $5. Please arrive early & setup ready to start on time. This week the program is a 60 minute session as part of the IM squad recovery week. All club members are welcome to this session, just turn up if you’re interested – BYO windtrainer, towel, water bottle, bike, bike shoes, bike computer etc.

TUESDAY 20th OCTOBER

RUN: TEMPO TRAINING

FRIDAY 23rd OCTOBER

SWIMMING: OPEN WATER

Venue: Sorrento Beach/SSLSC
Time: 6am – 7am
Details: This new coached open water swim caters for everyone, from those who have the “Fear Factor” to the competent swimmer. Sessions include drills on buoy turns, sightings etc. See website.

SWIMMING: CRAIGIE

Venue: Craigie Leisure Centre – 50m outdoor pool
Time: 10:30am – 11:30am
Cost: $10 or less with a swim card
Details: In addition to the regular squad, there will be a second opportunity for video analysis if you missed it last week – additional $10.

CLUB EVENT: AQUATHLON #2

Venue: Sorrento Beach
Registration: 5:45pm
Race Briefing: 6.05pm
Race Start: 6:15pm
Cost: Cash at registration. $10 per race for Seniors, $5 for Juniors (12-18). Series Entry $80/$40 – or bring your voucher!

RIDE: NOVICE RIDE

Venue: Meet at Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 6:30am – 8am
Details: Mystery Ride (a combination of coast, hills, and inland routes)
Notes: Please arrive at 6:15am for setup, bike check and briefing. Any adults wishing to build on their cycling skills and confidence are most welcome to come along.

SUNDAY 25th OCTOBER

OPEN WATER SWIM

Venue: Sorrento Beach
Time: 8am
Details: This is a casual (non-coached) open water swim for anyone interested to swim as a mob from the beach. Distances depend on the day and what people feel like doing. Meet at the top of the steps at the wall above the beach. See website

NCTC SEASON LAUNCH

Venue: Sorrento Surf Club
Time: 3pm – 5pm
Details: This event is hosted as an opportunity to get information about the season, and catch up/meet other club members – especially for those that have yet to venture out of winter hibernation, or are new to the club this year). There will be free drinks, party games, coach meetups, and session information. This event is ideal for new members to meet up with our longer terms members and ask all your questions. All the committee, coaches, ride leaders and active club members will be available so come and put some faces to the names. It would be great to see ALL club members come down and support this important function. So clear the calendar and lock it in! See website

JUNIORS 7-19 PROGRAM

This year, the club has a new program for Juniors. The program is for Junior Members aged 7 – 19 and is conducted on Friday afternoons and starts 30th October. Unlike previous years, it will now be offered in 2 lots of 5 week blocks over Term 4 this year and Term 1 2016. This gives people the option to sign up for only one block or both.

INJURY MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

MAX GRIEVE MEMORIAL RUN (10km, or 5km)

TRANSITION SPLITS WORKSHOP
