Our Junior Friday afternoon training sessions are starting up soon and we are doing things a little differently this year to ensure ALL our juniors aged 7 -19 get the opportunity to swim/bike/run to develop their skills and confidence regardless of their age or ability. The training sessions are designed to be play based while skill building, so they will be lots of fun!
The sessions will be delivered in 2 lots of 5 week blocks which gives people the option to sign up for only one block or both.
The first block is in Term 4 this year – 30th October until the 27th November.
We will then break for Christmas and holidays.
The second block is in Term 1 2016- 5th Feb until the 4th March 2016.
To be able to cover the cost of venue hire, insurance and coaching fees, there is a fee for the training blocks: $50 for a single 5 week block of sessions; or a discounted price of $90 for both blocks. The locations will be alternating between Hillarys Marina for the open water swim and beach running sessions, and Duncraig Senior High school for the bike and run sessions (except one special one to include the clubs annual Max Greives run at Sorrento Surf Club) each session runs from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

4th March : windup – ocean play, beach games, mini aquathlon- SSLSC
Janine Kaye will be head coach for the swim/run sessions. We will be working on swimming technique and confidence in open water and we have booked the marina to ensure children get the opportunity to swim in a safe, flat environment rather than the unpredictable water at Sorrento beach (as we have used in previous years). Parents will be required to help with water safety and marshalling a roster and further information about the training will be distributed prior to the first session.
The bike/run sessions will be coached by Janine for the 7-11 year olds, and the 12+ will be working with Kevin Chua on their cycling skills only. We have some extra dates available at the end of each block for the 12+ kids if Kevin feels they need some more cycling help to progress to his Saturday riding sessions.
