*  CLUB RIDE:  6-7.20am, Iluka Loop

With a number of events coming up early in the season such as Mandurah 70.3 and the Rottnest Triathlon, plus all those doing IMWA, there should be lots of you needing to get out on your bike. This is a good solid session that includes numerous hill efforts. The ride can cater for mixed ability groups due to fixed regrouping points and a shorter route option for Group 3. We have slightly changed the route at the northern end at Burns Beach so please ensure you are ready for the ride briefing at 5:55am for a ride start at 6am sharp.  More info and links to maps can be found here.

50m with Janine Kaye.   This session is aimed at working on your swim efficiency, pacing and endurance in the lead up to Mandurah 70.3 and IMWA. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). We are in the indoor heated pool but you’ll need to rug up for the walk back to the car!

Indoor pool with Pippa –   This session is technique based and perfect for CT’s and those of us looking to develop confidence and stroke.  Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).

Outdoor pool with Janine –  This session is aimed at working on your swim efficiency,  pacing and endurance to prepare the events coming up! Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). It is getting chilly outside so you are welcome to wear your wetsuit for this session (you will need to rinse it out thoroughly to avoid chlorine damage) or remember to bring lots of layers rug up for the walk back to the car!

This ride is scheduled every fortnight and is a short hills training session on local roads in Sorrento. The route offers some flexibility on distance and pace depending on how you feel on the day as the hill repeat area is a 2 km loop with either 3, 2 or 1 times up the Hocking Pde Hill. Ride starts from Celebrations, Whitfords. More info & maps can be found here on the club website.

* RUN: INTERVAL TRAINING : Moolanda Park,  6-7pm

Winter run sessions are at Moolanda Park, Moolanda Boulevard,  Kingsley. Pippa Davis is currently running these sessions during Rob’s break (Rob will be back in September).  These fun interval sessions are suitable for all levels and running experience. All welcome to come along and give it a go!

Outdoor pool with David M. –  Those lucky enough to get to the pool at this time are finding this a fantastic session. The pool is warm and it’s a quiet time of day. This session includes a mix of drills and some threshold work. We have 2 lanes and cater for all levels. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).

* CLUB RIDE : PERTH HILLS & DAMS, Deepwater Point Cafe, 6.30am

Lead by Stuart King. This route totals 110km (40Km in the Hills including Welshpool Rd, Canning & Wungong Dams) and features a final stretch back to the city along the freeway bike path. There will be plenty of stops and regrouping after every climb. Make sure you have two Bidons, Gels, Energy Bars and spare tube preferably two and gas canisters/pump. Bring money for breakfast/coffee afterwards at the cafe. More info and maps here

This ride now includes both the CT’s and any adults wishing to build on their cycling skills and confidence. Departing from SSLSC. Please be there at 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Don’t forget to wear your ID wristband and bring your lights.

For any adults with uncertainty, here is some feedback from Emma Bott after attending her first session:

Great ride for those of us looking to gain confidence on the road and those of us that need our technique ‘tweaking’ (little did I know I was actually working too hard hehehe). A nice couple of hills to push ourselves on without smashing ourselves too much. Love others to join us next week, we were back by 8.00 with big smiles on our faces and heaps more confident than we were to begin with. Don’t worry about being too slow nobody gets left behind and you’ll surprise yourself how good you’ll feel. Riding as a group is safer and let’s face it more fun!

Swim cards will be on hand at all sessions. The cards are $90 for 10 sessions (a saving of $10). Show the coach your payment receipt  (paper or digital copy)  and they can authorise your card! Payment is required either by direct deposit or register now to avoid too much cash handling on pool deck 1. Direct Deposit to the NCTC account using: BSB: 066166    Account: 10018211   Reference: SC Surname 2.
