50m with David M.   This session is aimed at working on your swim efficiency, pacing and fitness over the winter months. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). We are in the indoor heated pool but you’ll need to rug up for the walk back to the car!

From 7am a small group of runners will restart running local trails over the winter. This is an informal group rather than a coached training session, however anyone is welcome. Distance is nominally about 8km and suits a range of pace, and is followed by coffee. This week the meeting place is the entrance of Craigie Leisure Centre, with coffee followed in the centre afterwards for those who have time to stay.

Indoor pool with Pippa –   This session is technique based and perfect for CT’s and those of us looking to develop confidence and stroke.  Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).

* CLUB RIDE: Hillarys & Sacred Heart Loop, 6am

During winter we will ride this route every fortnight on a Thursday morning. Departs from Celebrations bottle shop at Whitfords Shopping Centre. Please arrive early for briefing and rolling at 6am sharp. This week we’ve also got a local ride starting from Sorrento Surf Club. Starting at the new winter time for local rides at 7am, we’ll head out Hepburn Ave, turn left at the intersection of Alexander Drive and then left again onto Ocean Reef Road all the way back to the coast through Mullaloo and Hillarys. For anyone wanting a shorter ride you can opt to finish back at Sorrento making your ride just 40km whilst the rest of us will head out for a second lap. On the second lap we will not continue as far along Hepburn Ave as before, turning left at Hartman Drive, making the loop shorter than the first one. Total distance should be about 65km.

* IM Training Squad Information Night – Brad Hosking T6D, 17th June

Hi North Coasters.

My name is Brad Hosking. For those who don’t know (me) I was formally a member of North Coast Tri club before leaving temporarily in support of my coaching mentor ‘Ross Pedlow’s’ formation of his new club Exceed!

With Exceed now well and truly up and running, the time is right to return to my roots at North Coast, a move I’m really excited about. It’s pretty much where I started my triathlon journey, where so many great friendships have been forged and where for many reasons I feel I really belong. In short – it’s great to be back.

I have been coaching now since 2010 under the title ‘The 6IXTH Discipline’ aka ‘T6D’. Very early into my coaching career I made the decision to focus exclusively on Full and Half Iron distance racing – nothing more – nothing less! It’s my true triathlon passion and skillset. With 10 full Iron distance races under my belt (and as many halves) and all as a full time working father of two with a full time working wife, I believe I have accumulated the kind of experience that such a sport demands, particularly when it comes to the empathy required at the coach / athlete level.

Whilst I am happy coaching athletes of all ages, (18 and above for IM) levels and abilities, my true passion lies with first timers and mature age group athletes that like myself, have life, work and family to navigate en-route to the start line. As I said – it’s all I know, my skill set and where I definitely believe I have the most to offer.

With this in mind and with the blessing of the president and the committee of the North Coast Tri Club, I’m writing to advise all North Coast prospective 2015 IMWA athletes of the preparation squad I will be running for this event. An 18 week program commencing August 3rd, it will not only provide you with the platform from which to realise and /or exceed your potential on race day, but leave you with a life changing experience born from a journey shared.

I will be running a comprehensive information night that will address any and all queries regards the squad, it’s processes, costings etc on Wed night the 17th June at the offices of SRG Corporate U 14-16 / 127 Herdsman Pde Wembley starting 6.30pm sharp. This is an information night only and there is no obligation whatsoever to join the squad or otherwise. Please note also that this squad is open to anyone and not just exclusive to North Coast club members.

Please register your intent to attend at brad@t6d.com.au so that I know who I can expect there on the night. For any other general enquiries please do not hesitate to get in touch likewise at this email address. If you have signed up for the race, considering signing up, and something like a dedicated preparation squad appeals to you in some way, then please make the effort to attend the information night and arm yourself with all the details to make an informed decision. Thankyou and looking forward to seeing you on the 17th June.

*VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED: Mudd Rush on the 16th AUGUST, 2015

We are still seeking volunteers for the Mudd Rush. Please contact Rosa if you are available and willing to rosa.illingworth@ptrbusiness.com.au
