We were blessed with beautiful weather this weekend and it was great to hear lots of members took the opportunity to get out there and enjoy it! I loved seeing some familiar faces at the HBF run for a reason and Facebook seemed full of members enjoying fun weekend activities.

Training continues as normal this week with the highlights of the weeks activities included below, but as always, check the calendar for the weekly training sessions available.
TUESDAY 26th MAY
* CLUB RIDE: 6-7.20am, Iluka Loop
This is a very popular weekly ride that continues year-round. Ride briefing under cover at Celebrations drive-thru Bottle-shop at Whitfords Shopping Centre. There are three ride plans catering for all speeds of riders: Group 1 – plus 32km/hr, Group 2 – plus 30km/hr, Group 3 less 30km/hr. Lights & ID band required. Please note – there’s a new coffee shop just near the ride start/end (outside northern entrance near Godfreys) called Orion Cafe. They welcome cyclists and are open from 7am. * ARENA SWIMMING, 7pm
50m with Janine- This session is aimed at working on your swim efficiency, pacing and fitness over the winter months! Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). We are in the indoor heated pool but you’ll need to rug up for the walk back to the car!
WEDNESDAY 27th MAY
* CRAIGIE SWIMMING, 6.30pm
Indoor pool with Pippa – This session is technique based and perfect for CT’s and those of us looking to develop confidence and stroke. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).
Outdoor pool with Janine – This session is aimed at working on your swim efficiency, pacing and fitness over the winter months! Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). It is getting chilly outside so you are welcome to wear your wetsuit for this session (you will need to rinse it out thoroughly to avoid chlorine damage) or remember to bring lots of layers rug up for the walk back to the car!
THURSDAY 28th MAY
* CLUB RIDE: Hillarys & Sacred Heart Loop, 6am
This is one of the regular Thursday morning club rides departing from Celebrations bottle shop at whitfords shopping centre. More information and links to maps can be found here . Please remember your lights!
* RUN: INTERVAL TRAINING : Moolanda Park, 6-7pm
Winter run sessions are at Moolanda Park, Moolanda Boulevard, Kingsley. Pippa Davis will be coaching the session. With lots of running events over the winter, now is a great time to work on your running. These fun interval sessions are suitable for all levels and running experience. All welcome to come along and give it a go!
FRIDAY 29th MAY
* CRAIGIE SWIMMING- 10.30am
Outdoor pool with David M. – this session will be a mix of drills and some endurance work. Suitable for all levels. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).
David will be also undertaking video analysis this week. Regulars will get first option, but David will continue this next week if required.
SATURDAY 30th MAY
* CLUB RIDE: Sorrento Surf Club, 6am : Ride/Run Brick – Baileys and SJ’s Birthday Parkrun Joondalup 5km double (organised by Hoffy)
Bring your running shoes and a bike lock for this ride, a $2 gold coin, a printout of your park run bar code and some money for coffee afterwards.
Meet at Sorrento Surf Club for 6am depart, short ride to Joondalup with a Hepburn partial loop and then up the coast to Burns Beach road finishing at Neil Hawkins park, the alternate slower ride is to miss the Hepburn partial loop for anyone interested. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/8003730/edit
At Neill Hawkins Park we will do 2 x 5km timed runs from 7am the NSRG Baileys run and at 8am the Joondalup parkrun.
The Northern Suburbs Running Group Baileys run is a handicap 5km run commencing from 7am and you nominated your expected time for 5km for those that are first time participants or off of our handicaps for the rest of us. The event is timed and the cost is a gold coin donation and then there is a sausage sizzle breakfast that follows the parkrun. The timing allows all participants time for a short recovery before the parkrun.
Joondalup parkrun is a free timed weekly 5km as part of the parkrun events around the world. This one is special as it coincides with SJ’s birthday, there will be a number of NCTC members there for her milestone run. Participants new to parkrun will need to complete the free registration with parkrun to have their event times recorded, and everyone will need to bring along a printed copy of your unique personal barcode. The event will start at 8am sharp.
After we will buy coffee from the coffee van and share in the NSRG sausage sizzle or SJ’s breaky, before making the ride back along the coast to the Sorrento Surf Club (quite likely in small groups at a time to suit yourselves).
* CT RIDE WITH KEVIN – SSLSC, 6.30am
The junior club ride is departing from SSLSC this Saturday. Please be there at 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Don’t forget to wear your ID wristband and lights.
* TRACK CYCLING AT MIDLAND SPEED DOME, Friday 5th June, 6pm
This is such a great activity organised by Kim Lees for club members to have a go at. It is so much fun and no experience necessary!

Bring your pedals, bike shoes, helmet and if you have clear glasses. It can get quite cold out there if you’re standing around so bring something warm to slip on

* END OF SEASON DINNER – Joondalup Resort (pool side marquee), 27th June 2015!
Don’t forget tickets are now on sale for the North Coast Triathlon Club Presentation Dinner on the 27th June, 2015 at Joondaulp Resort Poolside Marquee! We hope to see LOTS of you there celebrating the year we had together! The dinner is open to all members and their family/partners. The club is subsidising partial costs of this evening, and we are offering all tickets at $55 per person. Each ticket is for a 3 course buffet dinner valued at $75, plus a DJ will be there to get you all moving! Drinks are available to be purchased from the bar. Get your tickets now!
