A massive congratulations to everyone who competed this weekend, both at Busso 70.3 and IMOZ at Port Mac! A big thank you to David Martin and everyone who helped out at the tent. It was so wonderful to see so many happy North Coast faces at Busso both on the course and supporting. Hopefully everyone had a great day, or at least took some positives from it. Full results from Busso can be found here, and IMOZ here. It was terribly sad to hear that someone lost their life during the teams swim event at Busselton, a tragic reminder of the frailty of life. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. As the season officially winds down and winter sets in, we will have some changes to the schedule and will be sure to keep you updated. Training sessions will continue as people build for the new season; Mandurah 70.3, IMWA and other events. I know I’ll be spending lots of time working on my run! As always, check the calendar for the weekly training sessions available. The highlights of the weeks activities include:
TUESDAY 5th MAY
* CLUB RIDE: 6-7.20am, Iluka Loop
This is the popular Tuesday morning club ride known as an “intervals” session because there are numerous opportunities to stretch out in some fast, flat sections and then recover at designated regrouping points. The ride departs at 6AM from Celebrations Bottle-shop at Whitfords Shopping Centre. Lights required from now through to end winter. Michelle will not be there this week so would one of the regulars please ensure the ride gets away on time and please keep everyone safe.
There are three ride plans catering for riders of all ability. The groups ride slightly varying routes to reduce distance with less hills repeats in Iluka for Group 2 and less distance (shortcuts) for Group 3: Group 1 – plus 32km/hr, Group 2 – plus 30km/hr, Group 3 less 30km/hr. Distance: 40km, 38km & 32km. Please self-seed yourself into the correct group for your ability at the start. More info and links to maps can be found here
* ARENA SWIMMING, 7pm
50m with Janine- This session is a mix of technique and threshold work. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). Swim caps are also encouraged so we can make use of the Tempo trainers!
WEDNESDAY 6th MAY
* CRAIGIE SWIMMING, 6.30pm
Indoor pool with Pippa – This session is technique based and perfect for CT’s and those of us looking to develop their confidence and stroke. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). Be sure to welcome our new coach Pippa! The feedback from her first session last week was wonderful!
Outdoor pool with Janine – This session is a mix of technique and endurance. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available). Swim caps are also encouraged so we can make use of the Tempo trainers!
THURSDAY 7th MAY
* CLUB RIDE: Joondalup Loop Anticlockwise, 6am

Winter run sessions are at Moolanda Park, Moolanda Boulevard, Kingsley. This week David Martin will be coaching the session. With lots of running events over the winter, now is a great time to work on your running. These fun interval sessions are suitable for all levels and running experience. All welcome to come along and give it a go!
FRIDAY 8th MAY
* CRAIGIE SWIMMING- 10.30am
Outdoor pool with David M. – this session will be a mix of drills and some endurance work. Suitable for all levels. Please bring your Fins, Pull Buoy, Paddles (we have some club PB and Paddles available).
SATURDAY 8th MAY
* CT RIDE WITH KEVIN – SSLSC, 6.30am
The junior club ride is departing from SSLSC this Saturday. Please be there at 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Don’t forget to wear your ID wristband and lights.
* CLUB RIDE – Yanchep/Two Rocks 6:30am
We currently have no scheduled ride leaders due to the recovery from Busso so we are putting in the standard Yanchep/Two Rocks for those that did not compete in Busselton. Would one of the regular riders that attend please ensure the ride departs on time. Note the change to the start time for May we will move to 6:30AM and in June and the rest of winter 7AM.

* END OF SEASON DINNER – Joondalup Resort (pool side marquee), 27th June 2015!
Don’t forget tickets are now on sale for the North Coast Triathlon Club Presentation Dinner on the 27th June, 2015 at Joondaulp Resort Poolside Marquee! We hope to see LOTS of you there celebrating the year we had together! The dinner is open to all members and their family/partners. The club is subsidising partial costs of this evening, and we are offering all tickets at $55 per person. Each ticket is for a 3 course buffet dinner valued at $75, plus a DJ will be there to get you all moving! Drinks are available to be purchased from the bar. The NCTC rides have an exceptional safety record but there are always days when people make rash decisions on the bike. Swim cards will be on hand at all sessions. The cards are $90 for 10 sessions (a saving of $10). Show the coach your payment receipt (paper or digital copy) and they can authorise your card!
