There are lots of activities again this week around the club, so be sure to check out the calendar for the weekly training sessions available and get involved! Highlights of the weeks activities include:
* TRYSTARS TRAINING – Friday 21st November, 4.30 pm
The session this week will be at Sorrento again for both Trystars and CT’s. CT’s will cycle with Kevin and the Trystars will be doing an ocean play and beach running session. Parent help is encouraged and please try to arrive a few minutes early so we can register and be ready to go. Registration is open at 4.20pm. Remember your warm clothing for afterwards if parents want to stay around to participate in the Aquathlon or enjoy the BBQ!
* SATURDAY MORNING CT RIDE WITH KEVIN – Saturday 22nd November, 6.30am
This Saturday with Kevin leaving from Sorrento Surf Club. Please be there at 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Don’t forget your lights and remember to wear your ID wristband. This is a junior club ride.
* NCTC SUNSMART KIDS TRIATHLON – Sunday 23rd November, 7am
NCTC is hosting a kids triathlon at the Craigie Leisure centre this coming Sunday. This is a great “first experience” as the swim is in a pool. The cycle is on a closed road behind the centre, as is the run. This race is for fun and participation, with every participant receiving a medal. It is open to all children aged 7-15. The entry fee for TriWA members is just $4 to cover pool entry, and for non-member it is $20 to cover insurance and pool entry . Registration is open from 7am, with the first wave starting at 8am. JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
* AQUATHLON RACE 4- Friday 21st November, 5.45pm
Our Aquathlons are held at the Sorrento Surf Life saving club. Registration is at 5.45pm, and race briefing at 6pm. Come along to participate or spectate. Distances are usually a swim of 400m to 600m, and a run from 3.2 to 3.4km. The bar will be open and the club will be selling BBQ hamburgers $5.00 and sausage sizzle $2.50. These are a great social night for everyone to attend!
The amazing Al & Suzie from Als Cycle Surgery have very generously offered to sponsor the Aquathlon series again this year with another sensational bike on offer! This is the major prize for the Aquathlon series and to qualify, members must compete in at least 6 of the events over the 12 event series (see dates here) We are also very grateful that 3 of our members, David & Michelle Martin (ExplorOz), Lisa Vass (Sorrento Sports Massage) and Eve O’Hare (Eve’s PT Plus), have generously donated spot prizes at events.
* SATURDAY RIDE – GUILFORD HILLS MEDIUM – Saturday 22nd November, 6am
The ride this Saturday is the Guildford Hills medium ride which is a 78km loop, followed by Coffee and snacks at Guildford Milk Bar. Unlike most other club rides these rides departs from Guildford railway station (south eastern car park).

* BUSSO 70.3 FIRST TIMERS SEMINAR- Saturday 29th November, 3pm (Venue TBC)
One of our fabulous and very experienced members, Barry Silverlock, has very graciously taken over the role of providing a seminar and guidance to members that are new to the 70.3 or half ironman distance. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn from someone with so much passion and experience, as well as meet other members in the club who are new to the 70.3 race distance you can train and share the experience with! * MANDURAH INTERCLUBS- Sunday 30th November
YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU! Registration is now open for the Interclub Sprint distance race in Mandurah. NCTC will need to bring a full contingent of members to defend our trophy and bring it home again! Points are scored based on participation (with double points for females) and registration is limited.. So please support your club and sign up to come along to this fun day out. Northcoast community spirit is at its best for this race and it would be fantastic to see as many of you there as possible! For more information and to sign up, follow this link .
* SUNDOWNER- Sunday 30th November, 3-5pm
We are hosting a little social gathering at the SSLSC in the afternoon following the interclub race. We will be honouring our amazing Kona athletes, sending our well wishes to those competing at IMWA, as well as hopefully celebrating our sensational victory at the interclub championship while we bask in the glory of the trophy/trophies we bring home 🙂
We would also love to take this opportunity to farewell our beloved swim coach, Clare Whitehead, who after 8 years with our club, is hanging up her North Coast coaches shirt as her family is moving to Margaret River. We are so grateful for everything Clare has done to support and encourage the club and members, and we would love to see as many of you as possible come along to give her a proper NCTC send off! on the day, if you would like to leave Clare a personal message, please look out for the sunflowers and a small postal box. Simply write your message on the back of a sunflower and post it in the small sunflower box.

* MAX GREIVES MEMORIAL 5 & 10KM RUN – Friday 14th November
The Max Greives Memorial run for 2014 was a huge success from all accounts.. even with the crazy wind! Check out the race report and photos! Thank you to all the volunteers who offered help on the night.. we really appreciate it!
