There are lots of activities again this week around the club, so be sure to check out the calendar for the weekly training sessions available and get involved!  Highlights of the weeks activities include:

* TRYSTARS TRAINING  – Friday 14th November, 4.30pm

The session this week will be at Sorrento again for both Trystars and CT’s. CT’s will cycle with Kevin and the Trystars will complete a mini Max Greives  run session co-ordinated by Michelle Martin. Parent help is encouraged for marshaling. Remember your warm clothing for afterwards if parents want to stay around to participate in the Max Greives run or enjoy the BBQ! Registration is at 4.30pm.

* SATURDAY MORNING CT RIDE WITH KEVIN – Saturday 15th November, 6.30am

This Saturday with Kevin leaving from Sorrento Surf Club.  Please be there at 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Don’t forget your lights and remember to wear your ID wristband.  This is a junior club ride.

* LIVE WELL PHYSIO PILATES MAT CLASS – 6 week class starts Friday 14th November, 6am

A note from Jo at Live Well physio: A massive thank you to all those that attended the free Pilates session last week, it was a great turn out and we are thrilled to be able to provide a service to benefit some amazing athletes. There were a few common limitations found in the tri club members, such as; tight hip flexors, over active abdominals, stiff thoracic region, poor deep core stability and poor gluteus medius activation. Is this you too ? These are all areas we will focus on in the following 6 week block of Pilates.  There are still a few spots left in the classes so get in touch with Jo at joanna@letslivewell.com.au as soon as possible to save your spot. We are looking forward to getting you fighting fit, supple and with a super strong core ready for the Tri season. See you all on Friday  at Craigie Leisure Centre, 6 – 7am:)

* MAX GREIVES MEMORIAL 5 & 10KM RUN – Friday 14th November, 5.45pm

Max Greive was a founding member and a driving force in setting up the Club in the early 90s. Max tragically died of cancer at the age of 55 and we remember him through this memorial run. Entry is by means of as many gold coins as you wish to give for both runners and walkers, with all proceeds donated to the Cancer Council of Australia. The run is a 10km distance, with a 5km version  for social entrants. Start and finish at the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club. Race briefing 6:05pm, Race start 6:15pm. There is BBQ afterwards which is a great way to relax and unwind after the race and catch up with the news and stories from Mandurah 70.3!

Thank you to all the volunteers who have come forward to offer help on the night.. we really appreciate it!

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU! Registration is now open for the Interclub Sprint distance race in Mandurah. NCTC will need to bring a full contingent of members to defend our trophy and bring it home again! Points are scored based on participation (with double points for females) and registration is limited.. So please support your club and sign up to come along to this fun day out. Northcoast community spirit is at its best for this race and it would be fantastic to see as many of you there as possible! For more information and to sign up, follow this link .

* SAVE THE DATE – SUNDOWNER-  Sunday 30th November, 3-5pm

We are hosting a little social gathering at the SSLSC in the afternoon following the interclub race. We will be honouring our amazing Kona athletes, sending our well wishes to those competing at IMWA, as well as hopefully celebrating our sensational victory at the interclub championship while we bask in the glory of the trophy/trophies we bring home 🙂 We would also love to take this opportunity to farewell our beloved swim coach, Clare Whitehead, who after 8 years with our club, is hanging up her North Coast coaches shirt as her family is moving to Margaret River. We are so grateful for everything Clare has done to support and encourage the club and members, and we would love to see as many of you as possible come along to give her a proper NCTC send off!
