Another busy week at North Coast with lots going on! With only a month or two until the first big races of the season, be sure to check out the calendar for the weekly training sessions available and get involved!  Highlights of the weeks activities include:

* TRYSTARS – Friday 17th October, 4.30pm

This week is the start of our Trystars training season. This is open to any Trystar NCTC member. We are meeting outside the Surf Club this week for a 4.30pm start. Younger trysters (7-11) will be with Janine for a session to include running and ocean play, and Competitive Trystars (12-18) will join Kevin for their cycling program. Parent volunteers are welcomed and encouraged!

* AQUATHLON #2 – Friday 17th October, 6pm

Our Aquathlons are held at the Sorrento Surf Life saving club. Registration is at 5.45pm, and race briefing at 6pm. Come along to participate or spectate. Distances are usually a swim of 400m to 600m, and a run from 3.2 to 3.4km. The bar will be open and the club will be selling BBQ hamburgers $5.00 and sausage sizzle $2.50. These are a great social night for everyone to attend!

The amazing Al & Suzie from Als Cycle Surgery have very generously offered to sponsor the Aquathlon series again this year with another sensational bike on offer!   This is the major prize for the Aquathlon series and to qualify,  members must compete in at least 6 of the events over the 12 event series (see dates here)  We are also very grateful that 3 of our members,  David & Michelle Martin (ExplorOz),  Lisa Vass (Sorrento Sports Massage) and Eve O’Hare (Eve’s PT Plus),  have generously donated  spot prizes at events.

* GROUP RIDE ETIQUETTE – Saturday 18th October, 6am

With the Sorrento Challenge on, and requirements for volunteers being around for 8-8:30am,  we will be running a Group Riding Skills session starting at 6AM. This session will involve a briefing on techniques, aspects and calls used in group riding. Following this we will ride and put these skills to the test. This session will greatly assist all members who cycle to know what is expected and how to ride in a group.

* WIT CYCLING – Saturday 18th October, 6.30am

The WIT course kicks off this Saturday with the first of their ride sessions, starting at 6.30am at the Dome Kinglsey. I am sure all the ladies are looking forward to the next 8 weeks of learning and building confidence to start their triathlon journey!
