Weekly Update

There is a lot happening around the club at the moment and we want everyone to have to opportunity to get involved. Things to note for this week:

– Run Training moves back to Flinders Reserve from this Thursday night and throughout summer! Flinders Reserve, Broadbeach Boulevard, Hillary’s commences at 6pm for approx 1 hour. Coached session, cost $3

Friday night, 3rd October,  is our first Aquathlon of the season and we would love you to come down to spectate or participate. Sorrento Surf Life saving club, registration is at 5.45pm, and race briefing at 6pm. The amazing Al & Suzie from Als Cycle Surgery have very generously offered to sponsor the Aquathlon series again this year with another sensational bike on offer!   This is the major prize for the Aquathlon series and to qualify,  members must compete in at least 6 of the events over the 12 event series (see dates here)  We are also very grateful that 2 of our members,  Lisa Vass (Sorrento Sports Massage) and Eve O’Hare (Eve’s PT Plus),  have generously donated massage vouchers as spot prizes at alternate events. The bar will be open and the club will be selling BBQ hamburgers $5.00 and sausage sizzle $2.50. A great social night for everyone to attend!

Arena Tuesday night swim session update : Arena Joondalup is currently doing maintenance on the 50m pool which means our lanes are not available for our scheduled swim sessions on Tuesday nights with Clare. The maintenance is expected to be complete by the 12th October and sessions should return to normal by the 14th. We apologise for any inconvenience. Alternative options are at Cragie Leisure Centre, either the Wednesday night or  Friday morning sessions with Clare in the 50m pool, or Wednesday night with Kristy in the 25 m pool.

Armadale Duathlon, sunday 5th October – Help required : This Sunday, the Armadale Duathlon is being held at Champion Lakes. We would love to have the NCTC marquee set up for members to be able to meet up and store their gear. We are calling for a volunteer to take it down, set it up and bring it home. It is the smaller gazebo but still requires a decent amount of boot space (lengthwise) to fit it in. Please contact me if you are available or with any questions, at triathlon@northcoasttriclub.org.au

We hope to see lots of you soon at some (or all) of the great things happening around our club! Happy Training!
