A warm welcome to everyone attending this years North Coast Tri Club AGM

A special mention to:

• Our club sponsors: Honda North, Als Cycle Surgery, and also acknowledge Tom Houston from Central Metals.
• A welcome to our Life Members
• Newsflash from Canada overnight: Sally Pilbeam has won her category in the ParaTri world championship event!

I would like to thank the hard working committee from this past season. We have a lot of people in our club who are very passionate about our sport, and give up an enormous amount of their own free time to contribute something to our club. We have a number of committee members standing down this season including myself, and the club remains in good hands with those committee members continuing, plus some new members who would like to nominate here today.

Our club has had a remarkable year in triathlon, our 20th year since formalities emerged in 1994/95! Our membership continues to grow, and we welcome many new members to our North Coast family of over 500.

We are very proud this season to win two major awards as a club. The first being the Interclub Championship Rob Pickard Trophy, from the Mandurah Interclub race in December 2013. To top the season off, North Coast were recently award the Triathlon WA Club Championship Award for the 2013-14 season, as the best performing club in the state. To take these two prestigious awards in the one season is a very special reason for us to all celebrate our club spirit and success.

We have provided a number of enjoyable member activities this year, including the Boxing Day ride, the Death Valley Ride, Lancelin Ride, the summer Aquathlon series, and the Winter Duathlons, and we look forward to continuing these in the coming year.

Thank you to all club members for your ongoing support of North Coast. Please give your full support and understanding to the new committee coming in. It’s not always an easy task, in as much as we cannot please everyone, but we do try to focus on the main issues affecting the majority of members both now and going forward. I have already had preliminary discussions with the member nominating for president, and I will continue in the background during a handover phase, whatever it takes. I have full confidence the club is in great hands going forward under his leadership.

Thank you
Craig Wright
