Boxing Day Ride 2013

Written by Craig Wright on . Posted in News

Keep Thursday morning – Boxing Day Dec 26th free for a “catch up” ride or…..  a “burn off those calories” ride.

Drive to Sorrento Beach and leave food in your car for a BBQ breakfast (BYO food) and swimmers for a cooling dip. If don’t want to ride then meet same place at 8.30am and bring the family. The ride will cater for all abilities – you choose your speed and just ride for ¾ of an hour along the designated route and then turn around and head back to Sorrento the way you went out – that should get all riders back at 8.30 to meet friends and family. The ride will head up the coast to Burns Beach Road and then up Marmion Ave. towards Butler. The record for the “bludge ride” is reaching the Dome at Mullaloo, having a cup of coffee and rejoining the group as it returns – can you beat that?”

There will be a ride within the ride – this will be “The feel of steel” group who will pull out the classic old steel bikes that have been sitting in the shed gathering dust. Bring out the old war horse and relive the old times as you nurse your old lead weight back to life. If you don’t have an oldie, then try to borrow one for the occasion – this will be a continuation of our annual show of classic bikes.

Bringing out the mountain bike is also a good option!
