Tour de Lancelin 5th Oct

Written by Craig Wright on . Posted in News

The “Tour ‘de Lancelin” is on, (Sat 5th Oct) so get yourselves ready for the new “detour” route as you’ll cycle through some wonderful rolling countryside. Marvel at the Gravity Centre as you speed along Military Road towards Gingin Brooke Road. As we turn left at this intersection it will mark the halfway point, where we will be guests of Bill & Lill at the Willowbrook Farm caravan park who will be providing complimentary coffee, tea and scones.

After farewelling Bill & Lill you’ll start heading north to Cowalla Road where some spectacular countryside will find you on the run home to Lancelin. Alongside frolicking heifers, flowering wattle (non allergic) and through the orange groves, you’ll be in cyclists paradise. As you get your first whiff of the Lancelin sea breeze, you’ll be reenergised by the spectacular wind turbines daring and challenging you for wattage output. Turn into KW Road and Lancelin is a mostly down-hill run all the way. Lancelin Lodge is looking forward to welcoming us back once again – booking details will be following shortly. But for now cancel all your plans for the weekend of October 5th & 6th because it’s “tour time”.

All Club members welcome for the weekend. Full ride distance is 135k (one way), but you can ride just a section (1st half, 2nd half or whatever), or don’t even ride – just come up and join us for occasion and then stay for the Club BBQ on the Saturday night. And then… for the diehards it is a ride home the same route on Sunday morning.
