Aquathlon Series 2012-13

The series consists of 11 races from early November 2012 to April 2013. Based at Sorrento Beach they consist of a Swim leg from 300m to 600m and a Run leg of 3200m. We run shorter swim distances for competitors aged 11, 12 and 13 years of age as per TA rules.

After completing their first race each competitor is given a Handicap. There will awards for Best on Handicap in both Seniors (14 or above) and Juniors (13 or under) for the overall series. Our event sponsor provides prizes at each race.

Race 1: 2nd November
Race 2: 30th November
Race 3: 7th December
Race 4: 21st December
Race 5: 4th January
Race 6: 1st February
Race 7: 15th February
Race 8: 1st March
Race 9: 15th March
Race 10: 29th March
Race 11: 12th April

These are subject to confirmation as the season progresses.

Also we have the annual Max Grieve 5km and 10km run on November 16th. This is in honour of a former Life Member and acts as a fund raiser for the Cancer Foundation.

In January we conduct the State Aquathlon Championship for Triathlon WA over this course. At present the final date for this event is still being negotiated.

As this is a Club event and subject to insurance requirements, all participants must be members of North Coast Triathlon Club either as a primary or secondary members.

We actively encourage all members to participate in this event. For new members it is the primary method of developing contact with others within the club. For established members it is a chance to renew rivalries. For all family members it is more than a race, with a bar-b-q after the race it is a chance to socialise, discuss upcoming events and organise training activities.
